I saw Billy Blanks, Jr. and his wife, Sharon, on “Shark Tank” a few years ago. They were there pitching a dance workout DVD. They declined an offer from Mark Cuban at first and he actually went out in the doors after them to try again. They didn’t understand his offer originally and accepted.
Blanks name sound familiar? His father is Taebo king Billy Blanks.
BB Jr. mentioned on “Shark Tank” that he and his father had relationship issues and that he was homeless for a while.
When I looked up the product he was pitching on the show, I found something I liked even better.
It’s a cardio dance workout combined with karaoke!
It’s out of print, but I was able to score a copy on Ebay cheaply.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE it.
So much fun!
It’s a workout that feels like play. My daughter does it with me. We sing, dance, laugh and sweat.
It’s a good workout, too!!! I definitely get out of breath and have tired muscles.
The cool down song is an unexpected surprise for me. It’s written by Sharon Catherine Blanks and is titled “You Are Enough.”
I am the parent of a child with emotional special needs due to the trauma she endured before she came to through adoption. The words of this song speak to me on so many levels.
“You are enough. You are exactly where you need to be. Right now it’s tough, but all that you need to get through is already in you.”
“I’ts gonna be all right, it’s gonna be all right, it’s gonna be all right.”
I have a huge collection of exercise DVDs (dozens of them!), but this is definitely one of my favorites.
It’s kind of like an updated, less annoying version of “Sweatin’ to the Oldies” with Richard Simmons – but with singing.
Try it out on YouTube!
