Super Easy Frozen Hot Chocolate Recipe

Frozen hot chocolate.  The concept makes me laugh.  Frozen and hot in one description?  Okay….

Serendipity 3 is famous for their frozen hot chocolate.  This hot spot was on my wish list of places to visit while my daughter and I were in New York City, however the line was crazy long so we skipped it.  When we returned home to Florida, I came across a recipe for a frozen hot chocolate inspired by this restaurant and used it as a starting point to make our own.

It’s super easy to whip up a delicious, frosty faux frozen hot chocolate.  Here’s how.

Here's how to make a quick and easy frozen hot chocolate.

Frozen Hot Chocolate

Makes two large servings.

Throw about 3 cups of ice in the blender.   My beloved Ninja blender is a champ at quickly crushing ice to snow.

Add three packets of your favorite hot chocolate mix – with or without the tiny marshmallows!

Pour in two cups of milk.

Blend it all up and pour into classes.

To make it look fancy, top it with a bit of half and half made frothy with a hand mixer (homemade whipped cream!) and a dusting of cocoa powder.  Or a squirt of whipped cream from a can if you don’t want to make your own.

Slurp them up with straws while making happy sighs.

A decadent desert that takes a while to enjoy (if you don’t want brain freeze!).   This frozen hot chocolate is easily adjustable – use sugar free hot cocoa packets if you want, change up the milk (whole, fat free, soy, breve, etc.).  Make it your way!

Frozen hot chocolate is great for those of us in Florida who are sweating most of winter.

And in the warmer months?  Call it a copy cat Wendy’s Frosty!
