I like keeping the fun going once school starts back.  I’m always on the lookout for a fun afterschool activity that will get us outdoors.  Playing outside with my girlie gets us both moving and laughing.  Kick Flippers by PlaSmart Toys definitely fit the bill!

I first learned about them at Sweet Suite, part of Blogger Bash.  They specialize in smart, simple toys that encourage kids to exercise their minds, creative and motor skills all at the same time.

I was intrigued by their Kick Flippers – they’re like skateboards without the wheels.  It’s all about working on balance and coordination – while having fun!  They are recommended for ages five and up and hold up to 200 pounds, so Mom and Dad can get in on the fun!

Kick Flippers allow kids and teens (and beyond!) to work on learning the basic skills needed for snowboarding, skateboarding and surfing by improving balance, coordination, strength and cardio endurance.  They are completely flat and safe to use on floors, grass, sand, sidewalks, etc.  They are also lightweight and can easily fit in a backpack for playing at recess or after school.

My daughter and her best friend, both 14, spent some time exploring them in the driveway after school.  My girl loves that her Dad is also able to play with Kick Flippers with her.

They were so excited when the figured out how to get a bit of air!  They are working on getting the board higher.  Figuring out new tricks is great for building confidence.

Our favourite outdoor toys are balls. And anything which involves water (balloons, table, blasters!)

My kiddo’s love their skateboards and scooters! I think a bike takes a lot of balance and space, but a board can be fun anywhere!
