Sugar Free Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups #NSNG

sugar free chocolate

Sugar free chocolate that actually tastes good?  Yes, it’s possible!  And you can do it at home!

I adapted this from a recipe I saw for “fat bombs” on a Facebook page for Vinnie Tortorich’s No Sugar No Grain (NSNG) followers.  I’m not 100% NSNG.  Probably not even 80%.  But a healthier chocolate peanut butter cup?  I’m so down for that!

I’m trying to eat more whole, real foods and less processed junk.  Cutting down on sugar and grain definitely helps with that goal.

This is take three or so of reducing sugar and grain.  My daughter (14) and I stuck with NSNG for over a month during the summer, then fell off track when some major stress hit.  We’re a week into it this round.  I’m going for LSLG (less sugar less grain).

I’m working on finding interesting recipes, planning better, making sure the fridge is stocked and cooking more.  Knowing I have these chocolate peanut butter cups that taste like a treat, but aren’t really helps.

All you do is melt 1/4 cup each coconut oil and natural peanut butter in the microwave. Stir well to combine. Stir in two tablespoons of cocoa powder.  Look for a high quality brand if you can find it, but my store only had a choice of Hershey’s or Tollhouse.  I went with Tollhouse.

Pour the mixture into a mini muffin tin (I have a silicone one) and freeze.  They only need about an hour to set.  Pop them out of tin when frozen and stack them up in a freezer safe container. Store in the freezer.

These babies cure sweet cravings without sugar while giving you a good dose of healthy fats.  Winning!

My daughter’s friend gobbled up several and had no idea they were sugar free and good for her.  I’ll definitely be keeping these on hand to help curb my raging sweet tooth.
