One of my favorite childhood holiday memories is moving the advent calendar each day.  We had a simple felt one with numbered pockets and a star attached to move each day.  A funky Santa mouse with giant ears sat near it.  (Like this one!)

My daughter loves getting the advent calendar out every year, too.  In fact, we usually have multiple advent calendars going!  We have a classic Christmas tree shaped advent calendar and also a Star Wars advent calendar!  Then I usually get her one filled with some sort of treats, usually makeup now that she’s a teen.

It’s a great tradition to do with kids, as a couple or even on your own!  Yes, I am going to get my own treat calendar this year!  Maybe I’ll get lucky and snag one with wine or cheese.
